Role description
We’re looking for a Senior Software Architect to lead the evolution of our platform architecture and help scale our SaaS infrastructure for the next stage of growth.
As a Senior Software Architect, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end technical architecture behind our SaaS-based IoT platform. You’ll work across teams — guiding engineering decisions, mentoring developers, and ensuring scalability, security, and modularity in every line of code.
Define and evolve the core architecture of our cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform
Lead technical decision-making on scalability, modularity, data pipelines, and edge-cloud integration
Work closely with product and engineering teams to align architecture with business goals
Review and guide implementation of backend and frontend services (TypeScript, Rust, Node.js, React)
Evaluate and implement best practices for observability, reliability, and infrastructure-as-code
Ensure secure-by-design architecture (industrial data security is in our DNA)
Collaborate on cloud architecture (AWS/Azure) and drive platform evolution
Mentor engineers and help build a strong, scalable engineering culture
What you bring
5+ years of experience in software architecture, ideally within a SaaS or industrial IoT context
Strong background in designing and scaling microservices architectures
Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern backend frameworks (NestJS, etc.)
Knowledge of data pipelines, stream processing, and real-time data handling
Understanding of edge computing and connectivity protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, etc.) is a plus
Passion for mentoring, team collaboration, and shipping high-impact systems
Why join Tomorrow Things?
Be a key architect of a platform redefining industrial automation and AI
Work with a driven, mission-aligned team on real-world challenges that matter
Shape the technical roadmap of a fast-scaling company
Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and real ownership
Remote-first culture, flexible work hours, hybrid options in Bonn
