Prof. Dr. Hofmann brings 30 years of leadership in industrial automation, manufacturing and robotics to Tomorrow Things. His leadership experience with companies like Festo, Krones, and KUKA will help guide Tomorrow Things’ vision for Digital Twins and machine connectivity.
One of the forefathers of Industry 4.0
After several years as a development engineer at Mercedes Benz, Hofmann joined Festo AG in 2010 and took over their process automation business unit. Later he was appointed CTO of Festo AG, where he shaped their Industry 4.0 strategy and played a pivotal role in delivering the company to the digital age while overseeing 18,500 employees and €3 billion in revenue.
He continued to advance his career as CTO at Krones AG, Neutraubling (2017–2019). Krones is a world market leader in manufacturing high-end systems and machines for filling and packaging of beverages and liquid foodstuffs with 16,500 employees and €4 billion in revenue.
From 2019 to 2021, he served as a Member of the Board of Management at KUKA AG, Augsburg and Shanghai, where he directed innovation across five divisions of this industrial robotics giant, overseeing 16,000 employees and €4 billion in revenue.
