Once you have connected your Edge Gateway to your machine, the next step is to register your machine in Cloud Connect. The machine's OPC UA server is then connected to Cloud Connect and can transfer data.
Necessary requirements:
The Hilscher Compact Edge Gateway must be installed.
The machine must be switched on and ready for operation.
The OPC UA server of the machine must be accessible from the gateway. You can check this with a ping test. Use the terminal of your service PC for this:
(nc -zv <IP address> <OPC UA port>).

Generate Gateway ID and One-Time Password
Log in to the gateway with your service PC.
Click on “tomorrowthings: Device Onboarding” in the left-hand menu.
A gateway ID and a one-time password (OTP) will then be generated automatically, please make a note of these.

Connect Source
Log in to Cloud Connect.
Under “Sources”, go to “Connect Source” at the top.
Now enter your gateway ID (“Onboarding Key” field) and the one-time password (OTP) and the access data for the machine's OPC UA server.
Your machine is now successfully registered in Cloud Connect. You can see this under “Sources” by the green status light..

Transferring the Initial Structure of the Machine
You can now wait a moment until the initial structure of the OPC UA server has been transferred to the platform. It will then appear in the left-hand area when you click on your source.
